I think the private housing estate near St Vincent De Paul Church is probably closer. But the HDB estate is fine too. It’s less obvious how to walk to the Kampong from the HDB estate though.

How do you get there exactly? I’ve read many different ways (bus 70, bus 88, some other buses from the Buangkok MRT station) but none have really gone into depth about where to pick up the path there once you alight. The idea of getting off of some bus and wandering around the Gerald Drive area isn’t my idea of a good way to start off. I’m sure there’s more than one entrance, but which is easiest to find for someone who’s never even been to that part of Singapore?

You don’t need permisison. I went there the other day myself and walked around a bit. If you get too close to someone’s private property their dogs will barks at you!
